A leather bound journal for anyone who prefers paper to a screen: travelers keeping a log, writers drafting by hand, artists sketching on location. It is unisex and made to be carried, not stored, at close to the size of a paperback so it slips into a tote or a jacket pocket.
The cover is genuine leather in a warm brown that darkens and softens with handling, so marks and creases become part of the look. The signatures are stitched into the cover, which means the pages are fixed and the journal is not refillable. A long leather tie wraps around the book to keep it shut in a bag, and it can hold a loose note or ticket against the page. Inside are about 200 blank pages (100 sheets) with a natural deckle edge, the soft, uneven border found on handmade paper.
There are no ruled lines, which leaves room for sketches, maps and loose handwriting. The paper has a warm, toasted tone and a slight tooth. Ballpoint, gel pens, pencils and most fountain pens work well on it. Handmade paper can feather with very wet inks, so test your pen on the last page before you start. You receive the journal only; the pen, candle, cup and glasses in the photos are props.

Leather: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Once or twice a year, work in a little neutral leather cream, testing it first on a hidden spot. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.

Our pieces, out in the real world.
In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.
The counter may now be a website, but the standard remains much the same. Old craft. Modern wear.
Each piece names its exact material under Technical details, whether full-grain, top-grain or split leather, vegan leather or metal. If a piece is not listed as leather, it is not leather.
Pieces with a tracker slot say so under Technical details. The tracker itself is not included.
Dimensions, card capacity and laptop size are listed under Technical details for every piece. Belts are sized by full strap length: choose about 2 in (5 cm) above your trouser waist size. If you want us to confirm a fit before ordering, write to us.
Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth, condition it once or twice a year with a neutral leather cream, and let it dry naturally if it gets wet. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
