The backpack is cut from thick full-grain leather in a deep, variegated brown with a retro outline, its front and sides lined with buckled pockets, and the leather will build up a patina of its own the more it is carried.
A drawstring top beneath a buckled flap secures the spacious main compartment, which takes books, a change of clothes or travel kit. Inside is a padded compartment with a hook-and-loop fastening for a 13-inch laptop. Three exterior buckle pockets keep a water bottle, phone or gloves to hand, and wide adjustable leather straps spread the weight for long days on foot. Reinforced stitching and stainless steel hardware complete the build.
The set includes a long bifold wallet in brown Crazy Horse leather with fourteen card slots, a main bill compartment, an inner zipped pocket and a side slot for receipts. It is a well-matched pair for a student heading off, a commuter who prefers leather to nylon, or a man who walks the hills at the weekend in a wax jacket and flat cap. Give it for a graduation, a birthday or simply because his old bag has served its time.

Leather: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Once or twice a year, work in a little neutral leather cream, testing it first on a hidden spot. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
Shipping. Free, tracked, to the United Kingdom and the United States. Orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days; delivery takes 6–12 business days to the UK and 8–15 to the US. Duties and import taxes are included in the price — nothing to pay on delivery.
Returns. 30 days from delivery, on any item that is unworn and unused, with tags, in its original packaging. Email support@oldtradinghouse.com with your order number to start one. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval.

In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.

Each piece names its exact material under Technical details, whether full-grain, top-grain or split leather, vegan leather or metal. If a piece is not listed as leather, it is not leather.

Dimensions, card capacity and laptop size are listed under Technical details for every piece. Belts are sized by full strap length: choose about 2 in (5 cm) above your trouser waist size. If you want us to confirm a fit before ordering, write to us.
