A men's canvas and leather messenger bag built for work. Thick military canvas is paired with crazy horse leather, a combination that looks better the harder you use it. The flap and front straps give it a rugged, lived-in character that reads as capable rather than flashy. It carries from a morning commute through a full workday, slung on the shoulder strap or picked up by the top handle.
Under the flap, a zippered main section opens to a central compartment, a wall zip pocket, a phone pocket, a stuff pocket and two pen holders, so documents and daily gear each have a place. The padded main section fits up to a 13 inch laptop. Two front pockets keep frequently used items within reach, and a large back pocket takes a folded magazine or a thin folder without opening the bag. The adjustable shoulder strap and soft top handle balance the load.
At about 2.6 lb, the bag stays manageable through a busy day. The crazy horse leather softens and deepens with use, while the waxed military canvas takes on a worn-in look that suits daily carry, so the bag gains character over the years. Wear it over a field jacket or a navy overcoat. It comes in olive, dark gray, green, khaki and brown.

Canvas & nylon: brush off dry dirt, then spot clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, and let it air dry away from direct heat. Waxed canvas can be refreshed with fabric wax when the finish starts to fade; any leather trim is cared for like the leather below.
Leather: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Once or twice a year, work in a little neutral leather cream, testing it first on a hidden spot. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
Empty the bag and stuff it lightly with paper when storing it, and keep it in a breathable dust bag rather than plastic.
Shipping. Free, tracked, to the United Kingdom and the United States. Orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days; delivery takes 6–12 business days to the UK and 8–15 to the US. Duties and import taxes are included in the price — nothing to pay on delivery.
Returns. 30 days from delivery, on any item that is unworn and unused, with tags, in its original packaging. Email support@oldtradinghouse.com with your order number to start one. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval.

In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.
