A canvas messenger bag that pairs a water-resistant oil-wax canvas body with genuine cowhide leather straps and trim, giving it a substantial, lived-in character from day one. The rugged texture and weathered tone mean no two bags look exactly alike. It carries with the same ease from a morning commute to a weekend errand run, sitting at the hip with the flap facing forward.
The front flap closes over two adjustable buckle straps, keeping the main compartment secure without slowing access. A flat front pocket sits under the flap for anything you want close. Slim pockets along the sides hold a water bottle, an umbrella or other small essentials, so the main compartment stays organized. The shoulder strap, front straps and edge trim are finished in genuine cowhide, which darkens and softens with regular use. Inside, a polyester lining protects against everyday wear and is easy to wipe down.
The roomy main compartment holds a change of clothes, folders or daily essentials. The adjustable canvas and leather strap makes it easy to wear across the body or over one shoulder. Wear it with a waxed jacket or a heavy knit in the colder months. It comes in khaki, dark gray, black and green.

Canvas & nylon: brush off dry dirt, then spot clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, and let it air dry away from direct heat. Waxed canvas can be refreshed with fabric wax when the finish starts to fade; any leather trim is cared for like the leather below.
Leather: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Once or twice a year, work in a little neutral leather cream, testing it first on a hidden spot. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
Empty the bag and stuff it lightly with paper when storing it, and keep it in a breathable dust bag rather than plastic.
Shipping. Free, tracked, to the United Kingdom and the United States. Orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days; delivery takes 6–12 business days to the UK and 8–15 to the US. Duties and import taxes are included in the price — nothing to pay on delivery.
Returns. 30 days from delivery, on any item that is unworn and unused, with tags, in its original packaging. Email support@oldtradinghouse.com with your order number to start one. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval.

In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.

Each piece names its exact material under Technical details, whether full-grain, top-grain or split leather, vegan leather or metal. If a piece is not listed as leather, it is not leather.
