A waxed canvas backpack for the man who carries a full day on his back, from the morning commute to a weekend out of town. The oil-finished canvas has a weathered, lived-in look from the first day, and leather trim on the straps and top handle adds a refined edge to a rugged outline.
The waxed cotton canvas resists everyday scuffs and light rain, and the leather trim reinforces the points that see the most stress: the top handle, the strap ends and the base of the flap. The roomy main compartment holds a jacket, a notebook and the rest of your daily carry. A front flap pocket and two side pockets keep smaller items apart and within reach. Inside, a zippered pocket keeps a phone or wallet secure, and a phone pocket and a slot pocket make small things easy to find. The adjustable padded shoulder straps sit evenly across both shoulders, so the load stays balanced, packed light or full.
A sturdy top handle lets you pick it up off a rack, a car seat or the floor by the door without reaching for a strap. Between the oiled canvas and the leather, it reads more heritage workwear than gym bag, and it sits well over a flannel shirt or a work jacket.

Canvas & nylon: brush off dry dirt, then spot clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, and let it air dry away from direct heat. Waxed canvas can be refreshed with fabric wax when the finish starts to fade; any leather trim is cared for like the leather below.
Leather: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Once or twice a year, work in a little neutral leather cream, testing it first on a hidden spot. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
Empty the bag and stuff it lightly with paper when storing it, and keep it in a breathable dust bag rather than plastic.
Shipping. Free, tracked, to the United Kingdom and the United States. Orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days; delivery takes 6–12 business days to the UK and 8–15 to the US. Duties and import taxes are included in the price — nothing to pay on delivery.
Returns. 30 days from delivery, on any item that is unworn and unused, with tags, in its original packaging. Email support@oldtradinghouse.com with your order number to start one. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval.

In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.
The counter may now be a website, but the standard remains much the same. Old craft. Modern wear.
Each piece names its exact material under Technical details, whether full-grain, top-grain or split leather, vegan leather or metal. If a piece is not listed as leather, it is not leather.
