A waxed canvas backpack that pairs heavy-duty cotton canvas with genuine leather trim for a rugged, vintage look that suits a city commute and a weekend trail. The flap front with double leather straps gives it a classic rucksack outline, and the waxed finish adds light water resistance for unsettled weather.
Under the flap, a drawstring keeps the main compartment closed, and the structured canvas body holds its shape load after load. Inside, an interior zip pocket and a computer interlayer keep a laptop and small electronics apart from the rest, with a slot pocket and a phone pocket for a wallet, keys or phone. A front flap pocket with a buckle closure holds sunglasses or a notebook. The bag rides on a curved back panel that follows the shape of the spine, with adjustable straps that spread weight across both shoulders. A reinforced leather grab handle on top lets you carry it short distances or hang it up.
Capacity runs from 20 to 35 liters depending on how the straps are cinched, so it covers a packed workday or a weekend getaway. It looks right under a desk or on your back on a trail, and it gains character with use.

Canvas & nylon: brush off dry dirt, then spot clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, and let it air dry away from direct heat. Waxed canvas can be refreshed with fabric wax when the finish starts to fade; any leather trim is cared for like the leather below.
Leather: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Once or twice a year, work in a little neutral leather cream, testing it first on a hidden spot. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
Empty the bag and stuff it lightly with paper when storing it, and keep it in a breathable dust bag rather than plastic.
Shipping. Free, tracked, to the United Kingdom and the United States. Orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days; delivery takes 6–12 business days to the UK and 8–15 to the US. Duties and import taxes are included in the price — nothing to pay on delivery.
Returns. 30 days from delivery, on any item that is unworn and unused, with tags, in its original packaging. Email support@oldtradinghouse.com with your order number to start one. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval.

In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.

Each piece names its exact material under Technical details, whether full-grain, top-grain or split leather, vegan leather or metal. If a piece is not listed as leather, it is not leather.
