A roll-top backpack cut from heavyweight oil wax canvas that develops a natural patina with wear, much like a good pair of boots. It is made for men who want a rugged, weather-ready bag for work, weekend trips and everything between.
The roll-top main compartment expands or cinches down to suit the day's load. The front flap, adjustable straps and hardware are finished in genuine crazy horse leather, a full-grain hide with a slightly waxy sheen that deepens in tone with handling. A snap button closes the front pocket, so a phone or keys stay secure but quick to reach. Inside, a padded computer interlayer protects a laptop or tablet, with a zippered pocket, a slot pocket and a phone pocket. Two exterior side pockets add storage for a water bottle or umbrella. This three-pocket layout, front flap plus two sides, is what separates it from a plain single-flap canvas pack. Soft, padded shoulder straps keep long days comfortable.
The oil wax finish sheds light rain and resists everyday scuffs, so the bag suits a train platform as well as a trailhead. Wear it with a waxed jacket, a flannel shirt or a heavy wool knit on cooler autumn days.

Canvas & nylon: brush off dry dirt, then spot clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, and let it air dry away from direct heat. Waxed canvas can be refreshed with fabric wax when the finish starts to fade; any leather trim is cared for like the leather below.
Leather: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Once or twice a year, work in a little neutral leather cream, testing it first on a hidden spot. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
Empty the bag and stuff it lightly with paper when storing it, and keep it in a breathable dust bag rather than plastic.
Shipping. Free, tracked, to the United Kingdom and the United States. Orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days; delivery takes 6–12 business days to the UK and 8–15 to the US. Duties and import taxes are included in the price — nothing to pay on delivery.
Returns. 30 days from delivery, on any item that is unworn and unused, with tags, in its original packaging. Email support@oldtradinghouse.com with your order number to start one. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval.

In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.
