A men's black full-grain leather ratchet belt with an automatic buckle: adjusts in small steps for a precise fit, and a smart gift.
This men's version pairs a black vegetable-tanned full-grain buffalo leather strap with an automatic buckle that grips the strap as you pull it through, and a small lever on the side releases it again when you want to loosen or take the belt off.
The buckle is a rectangle with softened corners and a glossy black face crossed by subtle linear detailing, set in a dark metallic frame. Against the pronounced grain of the leather it reads as smart but not showy. A matching leather keeper holds the end of the strap flat and neat once it is fastened, so nothing flaps about when you sit down or move.
Wear it with blue jeans and a polo at the weekend, or with chinos and office trousers during the week; the tonal black finish fits comfortably with both. It is offered in four lengths from Small (41 in / 105 cm) to Extra Large (51 in / 130 cm), so check the size list before ordering. It arrives in a pouch, which makes it a practical gift for a man who values a precise, comfortable fit every day.
The length shown is the full length of the strap. The simplest rule is to choose about 2 in (5 cm) above your usual trouser waist size.
For a closer match, lay a belt you already wear flat and measure from where the leather folds at the buckle to the hole you use most, then choose the nearest length. Ratchet and automatic belts have no holes and adjust in small steps.
Leather: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Once or twice a year, work in a little neutral leather cream, testing it first on a hidden spot. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
Rest a belt between wears where you can, and store it hung by the buckle or loosely rolled.

Our pieces, out in the real world.
In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.
The counter may now be a website, but the standard remains much the same. Old craft. Modern wear.
Each piece names its exact material under Technical details, whether full-grain, top-grain or split leather, vegan leather or metal. If a piece is not listed as leather, it is not leather.
Pieces with a tracker slot say so under Technical details. The tracker itself is not included.
Dimensions, card capacity and laptop size are listed under Technical details for every piece. Belts are sized by full strap length: choose about 2 in (5 cm) above your trouser waist size. If you want us to confirm a fit before ordering, write to us.
Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth, condition it once or twice a year with a neutral leather cream, and let it dry naturally if it gets wet. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
