The canvas holds its shape, and a front zip pocket keeps a phone or transit card within reach without opening the main compartment. A side pocket adds another quick-access spot. The flap closes over the main compartment and is held down with dual buckle straps, so the contents stay put even when the bag shifts during the day. Inside, the layout keeps a wallet, keys and a notebook apart instead of tangled at the bottom. The adjustable canvas strap lets the bag sit crossbody at the hip or higher on the shoulder.
Worn crossbody, it stays put across a packed train platform or a quick walk across campus. It goes from a Monday commute to a Saturday afternoon and never feels overbuilt for the job. Canvas & nylon: brush off dry dirt, then spot clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, and let it air dry away from direct heat. Waxed canvas can be refreshed with fabric wax when the finish starts to fade; any leather trim is cared for like the leather below.
Leather: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Once or twice a year, work in a little neutral leather cream, testing it first on a hidden spot. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
Empty the bag and stuff it lightly with paper when storing it, and keep it in a breathable dust bag rather than plastic.
Shipping. Free, tracked, to the United Kingdom and the United States. Orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days; delivery takes 6–12 business days to the UK and 8–15 to the US. Duties and import taxes are included in the price — nothing to pay on delivery.

In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.

Each piece names its exact material under Technical details, whether full-grain, top-grain or split leather, vegan leather or metal. If a piece is not listed as leather, it is not leather.
