A classic shoulder tote with what it usually lacks: pockets. Phone, keys and sunglasses each get their own place, so there is no digging at the bottom of the bag. The clean utility shape works for anyone, at the office, at the farmers market or on a weekend away.
The body is sturdy cotton canvas, trimmed with leather on the pocket flaps and straps and fitted with metal buckles. Four front pockets close with leather-buckled flaps, and the side gussets cinch with cords. The top is open, with snap closures at the corners, and a full-width zip pocket on the back holds flat items and small valuables. The long handles sit comfortably on the shoulder, even over a coat. The canvas softens and takes on character with use, and the leather darkens over time. It is not waxed and not treated for water, so keep it out of heavy rain.
The main compartment takes a book, a tablet, a light jacket and the day's errands. A tablet fits easily, so it suits a tablet better than a laptop. Wear it on the shoulder with a field jacket or an overcoat. Spot clean the canvas with cold water and treat the leather with a little balm; do not put it in the washing machine.

Canvas & nylon: brush off dry dirt, then spot clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, and let it air dry away from direct heat. Waxed canvas can be refreshed with fabric wax when the finish starts to fade; any leather trim is cared for like the leather below.
Leather: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Once or twice a year, work in a little neutral leather cream, testing it first on a hidden spot. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
Empty the bag and stuff it lightly with paper when storing it, and keep it in a breathable dust bag rather than plastic.
Shipping. Free, tracked, to the United Kingdom and the United States. Orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days; delivery takes 6–12 business days to the UK and 8–15 to the US. Duties and import taxes are included in the price — nothing to pay on delivery.
Returns. 30 days from delivery, on any item that is unworn and unused, with tags, in its original packaging. Email support@oldtradinghouse.com with your order number to start one. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval.

In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.

Each piece names its exact material under Technical details, whether full-grain, top-grain or split leather, vegan leather or metal. If a piece is not listed as leather, it is not leather.
