A washed canvas backpack built for two kinds of days, the commute and the weekend. Zip it shut and wear it on your back with the padded shoulder straps, or take the soft carry handle and wear it crossbody with the removable shoulder strap. The cylinder shape keeps the load centered on your back, which means less fatigue on longer walks.
The thick washed canvas holds its shape full or half empty, softens slightly with regular use and does not show scuffs the way leather or nylon does. Brown leather-accent trim reinforces the stress points, and reinforced stitching at the handles and strap attachments keeps the structure solid. The zipper runs on a heavy-gauge track with leather-accent pulls. Inside, a padded sleeve protects a laptop, a zip pocket keeps small items in place and a phone slip pocket puts essentials at hand. The outside is kept plain, with no dangling straps or unused clips.
Choose M for a lean everyday carry, or L when you need room for an overnight stay or a gym session; both carry well on a man of about 178 cm (5 ft 10 in). The muted colors work with a flannel shirt or a sport coat.

Canvas & nylon: brush off dry dirt, then spot clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, and let it air dry away from direct heat. Waxed canvas can be refreshed with fabric wax when the finish starts to fade; any leather trim is cared for like the leather below.
Leather: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Once or twice a year, work in a little neutral leather cream, testing it first on a hidden spot. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
Empty the bag and stuff it lightly with paper when storing it, and keep it in a breathable dust bag rather than plastic.
Shipping. Free, tracked, to the United Kingdom and the United States. Orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days; delivery takes 6–12 business days to the UK and 8–15 to the US. Duties and import taxes are included in the price — nothing to pay on delivery.
Returns. 30 days from delivery, on any item that is unworn and unused, with tags, in its original packaging. Email support@oldtradinghouse.com with your order number to start one. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval.

In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.
