The fine vertical rib gives them a neat, tailored look under trousers, and the crew height sits comfortably above the ankle bone, so they work as well with brogues and a suit during the week as they do with trainers and jeans at the weekend.
They are knitted from 95% polyester and 5% elastane; the small amount of stretch helps the cuff hold its place and the foot keep its shape after wear. Sold as one size. The supplier's care instruction is hand wash only, which will also keep the rib looking crisp for longer. The pack contains a mix of colours, and the photographs show sets drawn from black, grey, navy, white, brown and similar neutrals, so the exact combination may vary.
Plain ribbed socks are one of those things a man goes through quietly and rarely replaces in time, which makes a five-pair pack a practical addition to any drawer and an easy extra for a larger gift. Shipping. Free, tracked, to the United Kingdom and the United States. Orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days; delivery takes 6–12 business days to the UK and 8–15 to the US. Duties and import taxes are included in the price — nothing to pay on delivery.

In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.

Scarves and the pieces in our winter sets are one size, and knitted pieces stretch to fit most adults. For gloves, measure around the widest part of your palm and compare it with the measurements in Technical details. If you are unsure, write to us before ordering.
Hand wash knitted and wool pieces cool and dry them flat; never wring or tumble dry. Leather gloves are dry clean only and should always dry naturally, away from heat. Where Technical details gives a care line, follow that first.
