A waxed canvas backpack with a rugged, weathered exterior and genuine leather trim on the straps and roll-top flap. It has the presence of a well-worn field pack while staying practical for the office, the train or a weekend out of town.
The roll-top closure lets you set the opening to what you are carrying that day, and leather buckle straps keep everything cinched down. Two buckled flap pockets on the front give quick access to a phone, keys or a notebook without opening the main compartment. Inside, a zippered pocket and a padded laptop sleeve keep a computer up to 16 inches apart from the rest of your gear. Adjustable canvas and leather shoulder straps share the load evenly, and a leather top handle makes it easy to grab when you are moving fast. Because of the roll-top, the bag expands or compresses depending on how much you pack.
Carry a laptop and the day's things on a light office day, or roll it higher for a weekend away. Waxed canvas picks up creases and a natural patina with use, and the leather trim ages alongside it. Wear it with a quilted jacket, a flannel shirt or a heavy knit.

Canvas & nylon: brush off dry dirt, then spot clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, and let it air dry away from direct heat. Waxed canvas can be refreshed with fabric wax when the finish starts to fade; any leather trim is cared for like the leather below.
Leather: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Once or twice a year, work in a little neutral leather cream, testing it first on a hidden spot. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
Empty the bag and stuff it lightly with paper when storing it, and keep it in a breathable dust bag rather than plastic.
Shipping. Free, tracked, to the United Kingdom and the United States. Orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days; delivery takes 6–12 business days to the UK and 8–15 to the US. Duties and import taxes are included in the price — nothing to pay on delivery.
Returns. 30 days from delivery, on any item that is unworn and unused, with tags, in its original packaging. Email support@oldtradinghouse.com with your order number to start one. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval.

In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.
The counter may now be a website, but the standard remains much the same. Old craft. Modern wear.
Each piece names its exact material under Technical details, whether full-grain, top-grain or split leather, vegan leather or metal. If a piece is not listed as leather, it is not leather.

Dimensions, card capacity and laptop size are listed under Technical details for every piece. Belts are sized by full strap length: choose about 2 in (5 cm) above your trouser waist size. If you want us to confirm a fit before ordering, write to us.
