A classic two-handle duffle with a zip top, sized for a long weekend of two to three days: a few shirts, a pair of shoes and a dopp kit. Carry it by the leather handles or on the removable shoulder strap, which is included. At its size it fits most US domestic overhead bins, though it is worth checking with your airline before you fly.
The body is waxed canvas, trimmed in dark brown leather. Two leather front pockets with brass snaps hold a phone, charger and travel documents, so the main bag stays closed while you wait in line. Zip pockets on each end take small items. The main compartment opens wide and has a zip pocket inside for small valuables. There is no separate shoe compartment, so shoes go in the main compartment alongside your clothes.
Waxed canvas creases and darkens with each trip, which gives the bag a worn, lived-in look over time. It resists light rain but is not waterproof. Brush off dirt, spot clean with cold water and re-wax when the finish starts to look dry. Choose coffee, army green or dark gray, each paired with dark brown leather. Take it on the train for a weekend away, or keep it packed in the trunk.

Canvas & nylon: brush off dry dirt, then spot clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, and let it air dry away from direct heat. Waxed canvas can be refreshed with fabric wax when the finish starts to fade; any leather trim is cared for like the leather below.
Leather: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Once or twice a year, work in a little neutral leather cream, testing it first on a hidden spot. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
Empty the bag and stuff it lightly with paper when storing it, and keep it in a breathable dust bag rather than plastic.
Shipping. Free, tracked, to the United Kingdom and the United States. Orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days; delivery takes 6–12 business days to the UK and 8–15 to the US. Duties and import taxes are included in the price — nothing to pay on delivery.
Returns. 30 days from delivery, on any item that is unworn and unused, with tags, in its original packaging. Email support@oldtradinghouse.com with your order number to start one. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval.

In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.

Each piece names its exact material under Technical details, whether full-grain, top-grain or split leather, vegan leather or metal. If a piece is not listed as leather, it is not leather.
