A waxed canvas tote that closes with a full zip, unlike the usual open bucket. A laptop, a book and a sweater stay put on the train or in the trunk. It covers a workday, a library run or a weekend market, carried by hand or worn on the shoulder when your hands are full.
The body is cotton canvas treated with wax. It creases and darkens where it is handled, so it looks better broken in, and the wax sheds light rain, though the bag is not waterproof. The handles, center tab and zip pull are crazy horse leather, stitched and riveted onto the canvas. Slip pockets inside hold a phone and small items. Carry it by the leather handles or clip on the removable shoulder strap. Every color comes with brown leather trim, and waxed canvas varies slightly from piece to piece.
It takes a laptop up to 13 inches, a book, a charger and a light layer. A 15 inch laptop is too wide for it. The items in the photos are for display and are not included. Brush off dry dirt and spot clean with cold water and a soft brush; do not machine wash. When the wax looks patchy, rub in a canvas wax bar to refresh it.

Canvas & nylon: brush off dry dirt, then spot clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, and let it air dry away from direct heat. Waxed canvas can be refreshed with fabric wax when the finish starts to fade; any leather trim is cared for like the leather below.
Leather: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Once or twice a year, work in a little neutral leather cream, testing it first on a hidden spot. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
Empty the bag and stuff it lightly with paper when storing it, and keep it in a breathable dust bag rather than plastic.
Shipping. Free, tracked, to the United Kingdom and the United States. Orders are dispatched within 2–3 business days; delivery takes 6–12 business days to the UK and 8–15 to the US. Duties and import taxes are included in the price — nothing to pay on delivery.
Returns. 30 days from delivery, on any item that is unworn and unused, with tags, in its original packaging. Email support@oldtradinghouse.com with your order number to start one. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 10 business days of approval.

In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.

Each piece names its exact material under Technical details, whether full-grain, top-grain or split leather, vegan leather or metal. If a piece is not listed as leather, it is not leather.

Dimensions, card capacity and laptop size are listed under Technical details for every piece. Belts are sized by full strap length: choose about 2 in (5 cm) above your trouser waist size. If you want us to confirm a fit before ordering, write to us.
