A wide men's top-grain leather belt with a solid brass buckle: a heavy-duty jeans belt built to last, and a gift for him.
The strap is cut from thick top grain leather to a generous 3.8cm width, with a lightly burnished surface that shows natural variation in tone. It has the weight and presence of a working belt, the kind traditionally worn with heavy denim, canvas and corduroy.
The buckle is large and made of solid brass, with an aged, antique finish and a squared frame. Two screw-head studs secure the strap to the buckle, a practical detail that also adds a utilitarian, workshop character. Colours are black, a deep coffee brown and a warmer mid brown, and lengths run from 41 to 51 inches in two-inch steps, so you can choose a size that sits comfortably on the hips rather than one you merely tolerate.
Wear it with dark jeans, workwear trousers or heavy cotton chinos, and let the brass do the talking. It suits outdoor weekends, market days and evenings at the pub equally well, and gains character with wear. As a gift it is an easy win for a man who appreciates substantial, practical things; add a herringbone flat cap and the look becomes unmistakably country.
The length shown is the full length of the strap. The simplest rule is to choose about 2 in (5 cm) above your usual trouser waist size.
For a closer match, lay a belt you already wear flat and measure from where the leather folds at the buckle to the hole you use most, then choose the nearest length. Ratchet and automatic belts have no holes and adjust in small steps.
Leather: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Once or twice a year, work in a little neutral leather cream, testing it first on a hidden spot. If it gets wet, blot it and let it dry naturally, away from radiators and direct sun. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
Rest a belt between wears where you can, and store it hung by the buckle or loosely rolled.

Our pieces, out in the real world.
In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.
The counter may now be a website, but the standard remains much the same. Old craft. Modern wear.
Each piece names its exact material under Technical details, whether full-grain, top-grain or split leather, vegan leather or metal. If a piece is not listed as leather, it is not leather.
Pieces with a tracker slot say so under Technical details. The tracker itself is not included.
Dimensions, card capacity and laptop size are listed under Technical details for every piece. Belts are sized by full strap length: choose about 2 in (5 cm) above your trouser waist size. If you want us to confirm a fit before ordering, write to us.
Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth, condition it once or twice a year with a neutral leather cream, and let it dry naturally if it gets wet. Full-grain leather darkens and softens with use; that patina is part of its character.
