Men's lined leather gloves in smooth sheepskin with a warm plush lining: classic winter gloves for cold commutes and a gift for him.
The pared-back shape is the point: they slip under a coat sleeve without bulk and look as appropriate with a suit on the way to the office as with a casual jacket at the weekend.
The supplier describes the gloves as sheepskin leather with a plush, velvet-style lining and a polyester fibre filling for added warmth. Each glove measures approximately 24 cm long and 11 cm across, and they are sold in one size. Leather should not be washed: do not wash, bleach, tumble dry, iron or dry clean them. Instead, wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth when needed and let them dry naturally if they get wet.
Black leather gloves are one of the few accessories that never date. Wear them for the commute, for driving, or with a dark overcoat and a charcoal flat cap on a Sunday walk. They also make a dependable present for a husband, father or brother: understated, practical, and easy to get right without knowing more than his taste in coats. Keep them in a coat pocket from October onwards and they will rarely be left behind.
Measure around your dominant hand at the widest part of the palm, just below the knuckles and without the thumb. Compare that with the palm width in Technical details: a glove measured flat is roughly half its circumference.
Leather gloves feel snug at first and ease slightly with wear; knitted gloves have natural stretch. If you are between sizes, write to us and we will tell you honestly which will suit.
Leather: dry clean only. If they get wet, let them dry naturally at room temperature, never on a radiator, then flex the fingers gently.
Knitted & wool: hand wash cool with a wool detergent, press dry in a towel and dry flat.

Our pieces, out in the real world.
In 1924, our grandfather, Albert Whitley, opened a small outfitter’s shop in Yorkshire. Our father, Henry, carried it forward. Today, we continue the family business with the same belief: good materials, useful things and pieces made to be worn for years.
The counter may now be a website, but the standard remains much the same. Old craft. Modern wear.
Pairs with touchscreen fingertips say so in the product name and under Technical details. If it is not mentioned, assume they do not.
Yes. Pair any scarf with gloves or a cap and save 10% when you buy two or more pieces. If you would rather not choose, our winter sets match a hat, scarf and gloves in one colour.
Scarves and the pieces in our winter sets are one size, and knitted pieces stretch to fit most adults. For gloves, measure around the widest part of your palm and compare it with the measurements in Technical details. If you are unsure, write to us before ordering.
Hand wash knitted and wool pieces cool and dry them flat; never wring or tumble dry. Leather gloves are dry clean only and should always dry naturally, away from heat. Where Technical details gives a care line, follow that first.
